The Office of the Chancellor through the Vice Chancellor delegates responsibility to the Assistant Vice Chancellor for Human Resources to establish and administer employment practices and procedures in compliance with College policies and state and federal laws and regulations. The EEO/AA Officer shall provide oversight in the implementation and administration of these employment practices and procedures as they relate to the areas of equal employment opportunity and affirmative action. When positions are filled competitively, employment practices and procedures shall be designed to seek and attract highly qualified and diverse pools of applicants and shall establish job-related methods of evaluating applicants. The competitive employment process includes: 1. Identification of the essential duties of a position and identification of the knowledge, skills, abilities, and other requirements necessary or desirable for successful job performance; 2. Development of a plan to evaluate applicants based on a job analysis; 3. Development of a recruitment strategy, which considers affirmative action guidelines, and potential sources of highly qualified applicants; 4. Development and application of job-related screening and selection criteria; and 5. A requirement for and method of documenting information obtained and decisions made during each process.
