Every classroom needs the right tools to help students succeed, and a virtual one is no different! That's why we use Web Course Tools (WebCT) -- an integrated set of tools for developing and delivering courses or course components over the Web.Some of the WebCT tools used to support online learning include: - calendar

WebCT provides the tools to present online learning in a variety of ways. This can range from structured learning pathways to dynamic, interactive, virtual classrooms. How a course is presented online depends on the content and complexity of the learning material, and the delivery methodology used by the instructor. With each course, WebCT will become a more familiar and welcoming learning environment. Eventually, WebCT will simply become another tool used to support learning. As with any classroom, it is a changing environment - expect each course to apply different tools and techniques. Your instructor will select the tools which best apply to their course, and may use different icons to represent those tools. Join in, ask questions, and participate as you would in any classroom. WebCT brings the dynamics of a classroom environment to the World Wide Web. It allows instructors and students to interact in a virtual classroom in much the same way as in a standard classroom. The difference is that it can be done from any place in the world, at any time and with the resources of the Internet as support. WebCT courses can be supplements to face-to-face learning, or developed as fully interactive classrooms where you may be involved in online discussions and group presentations. Some topics may not require a lot of discussion and may be presented as a structured set of notes. It depends on the learning material, your instructor, and the goals of each course. WebCT is used to bring a set of learning support tools that will be common to each course. As you progress through the course Web site, the tools provided by WebCT will become more familiar and more comfortable to use.
