Best Practices: Earth Science Day

The Northwest Campus celebrated Earth Science Day on Oct. 14, drawing participants from more than 40 groups and organizations.  The free event is an opportunity to encourage students to explore the natural world and learn about the geosciences from astronomy and climatology to geology and conservation. Students also had the chance to taste food cooked in a solar oven and check out the accuracy of the giant campus sundial. KOLD-13 annually broadcasts its noon weather report from the event. Among the many other participants were the University of Arizona Tree Ring Lab, Tohono Chul Park and World Care.
