College Updates
Board of Governors’ Meeting Update At the March 12, 2009 Board of Governors’ Meeting, the Board heard reports from PCCEA, AFSCME and ACES.
Additionally, the Board renewed contracts with the College’s current dental and life insurance companies.
Volunteer to Serve on a Standing Committee PCC employees interested in serving on a Standing Committee for the 2009-2010 academic year must complete the Standing Committee Interest Form online to be considered. Individuals currently serving on a Standing Committee whose terms have not expired do not need to reapply.
Please note that this process is the only way that employees can indicate their interest and willingness to serve on a Standing Committee next year.
The deadline for submitting the Standing Committee Interest Form is Tuesday, March 31, 2009. Volunteers will be notified via email by May 15, 2009 regarding new committee assignments.
Previous PCC Calendars Available Media Production & Publications has a few dozen framed calendars from previous years available. The calendars are free and limited to two per person. For more information or to make an appointment, contact Grace English in Media Production & Publications at 206-4924.
Annual Juried Student Art Exhibition The Annual Juried Student Art Exhibition will open to the public on April 6, 2009. Students can drop off artwork at the Louis Carlos Bernal Gallery on March 23, 24, 25 from 10:00 am to 5:00 pm and Thursday, March 26 from 10:00 am to 6:00 pm. Two-dimensional artwork must be framed and ready to hang with a wire or hanging brackets. Any PCC student taking classes is eligible to exhibit his/her artwork. Medias can be ceramic, drawing, fiber, metal, mixed media, painting, printmaking, photography, digital and sculpture. Entry forms can be picked up at the Louis Carlos Bernal Gallery or on line.
Revised Training: Pima Reports, Introduction to Reporting Crystal Reports was upgraded late February. For those unable to attend sessions offered prior to implementation, we have added another hands-on session. The session will be held on Thursday, April 9, 2009 from 2:30 - 4:00 pm at the Desert Vista Campus, F-212.

- Rebeca Bennett, Spanish Faculty, will be honored with the Cesar Chavez Humanitarian Award at the National Association of Social Workers Branch II Annual Awards Luncheon on March 27, 2009.
- Dr. Suzanne Miles, Provost, will be honored with the National Presidential Community Service Award at the 20th Annual LULAC Educator’s Banquet on April 1, 2009.
