Best Practices—PCC Truck Driving Program PCC’s Truck Driving Program offers three certificates for direct employment. “The program began in September 1999 and enrolls approximately 100-150 students per year,” states Ramona Garcia, Program Coordinator.
The Class A Vehicle Driver Certificate provides students with the skills required to obtain a commercial driver’s license. The Professional Truck Driver Certificate provides in-depth training for positions in the trucking industry. Training includes a paid externship with a local trucking employer. The Commercial Truck Driver Certificate covers everything in the Class A Vehicle Driver training course plus an additional 40 hours of behind the wheel driving instruction in preparation for solo driving positions.
