Microsoft Office 2003 Removal and Training
Microsoft Office 2003 will be removed from college computers beginning December 20.  Additional training on the new features of Microsoft Office 2007 is still being offered online. These Employee Development (ED) courses are excellent resources to learn about the new features.   Find the courses in ED (Employee Development).  Sign into MyPima, select the @Work tab and look for the log into ED link under Professional Development.   You will find many courses on Office 2007 and suggest Introduction of Microsoft Office 2007 and New Features for End Users in Microsoft Office 2007.  Register in ED or contact the Office of Professional Development at 206-4706 if you need coaching.

Contact your local IT department, the District IT Helpdesk or call 206-4900 for more information or assistance or if you have any questions about current documents, spreadsheets or databases that have not been upgraded to Office 2007.

The Inside Story—Veterinary Technology Program
PCC’s Veterinary Technology Program began in 2001 and is fully accredited by the American Veterinary Medical Association.  The program offers an Associate of Applied Science (AAS) degree and combines a solid foundation in science and veterinary courses.  Students train in state-of-the-art facilities and participate in two internships.

Upon completion of the AAS degree, students may apply to take state and national board exams for certification.  The Veterinary Technology Program also offers a Certificate for Direct Employment in Veterinary Technology as well as a Veterinary Practice Assistant Certificate for Direct Employment.

Best Practices—PROGRESS!  Program
PCC’s PROGRESS! Program is a semester-long program that helps participants build the confidence and skills necessary to acquire a career leading to self-sufficiency.  The program targets single parents, homemakers, and displaced workers and provides concentrated support for their re-entry into college.

Participants enroll in STU 121, taught by designated Counselors at each of the campuses.  The course covers college resources and services, community resources, personal and academic goals, financial goals, career exploration, and a wide variety of study skills.  The course also helps students navigate the financial aid system and plan financially for education.
