POSITION:     IV THERAPY NURSING INSTRUCTOR  - Part Time
HOURLY RATE: $ 31.95 GRADE: S1
This is a non-exempt position as defined under the Fair Labor Standards Act.

About the Center for Training and Development: The Center for Training and Development's unique operational characteristics include year round open-entry/open-exit enrollment, competency based instruction, practical hands-on training in a vocational and clinical setting, intensive training schedule and comprehensive student services.  The Center for Training and Development (CTD) Health Occupations Program is located at the Desert Vista Campus, with clinical sites located throughout the Tucson area.

DUTIES and RESPONSIBILITIES:  To perform a variety of instructional duties by assisting students in classroom and clinical instruction of Licensed Practical Nurses  (LPNs) to obtain IV Certification, as mandated by the Arizona State Board of Nursing Advisory Opinion on Intravenous Therapy by LPNs.


QUALIFICATIONS:

Knowledge of:  Principles and practices of teaching and evaluation of adult learners; nursing principles, practices and procedures; basic principles of coordination, supervision, training, and record keeping.

Ability to: Instruct Licensed Practical Nurses in Intravenous Therapy; provide assistance and instruction to students on academic matters and patient/client care; instruct students in a variety of clinical setting; update curriculum; administer and monitor a variety of tests and assessments; operate a variety of standard medical and medical testing equipment; maintain records and inventory; communicate clearly and concisely, both orally and in writing; establish and maintain cooperative working relationships with those contacted in the course of work.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: 

(1) Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution in Nursing;
(2) current Arizona R.N. license in good standing or multi-state privilege to practice in Arizona; and,
(3) three years experience as a professional nurse providing direct patient care.

OTHER INFORMATION:  This position is contingent upon funding derived from revenue generated by the Center for Training and Development.  This position may require daytime, evening, or weekend schedules.
