| POSITION: | HUMAN RESOURCES ADVANCED ANALYST - EEO/AA/ADA | | SALARY: | $50,708 | GRADE: | C43 | | | This is an exempt position as defined under the Fair Labor Standards Act. | | HOURS: | 37.5 per week, 12 months per year | | JOB NUMBER: | 08017BDS3 | | Closing Date: | Open Until Filled - First Review JULY 24, 2008 | | CONTACT: | Brenda Demic, E-mail: BDemic@pima.edu | POSITION SUMMARY: This position is assigned to the Equal Opportunity/Affirmative Action office which reports to the Chancellor is responsible for the administration of the College’s internal discrimination complaint process, monitoring of equal employment opportunity compliance, preparation of Affirmative Action Plans and compliance reports, and employee requests for accommodations under the Americans with Disability Act (ADA). This position will report to the Manager of EEO/ADA/AA. DUTIES and RESPONSIBILITIES: Investigate employee and student allegations of violations of discrimination laws; assist with the annual activity of compiling College affirmative action plans and associated goals development and adverse impact statistical analysis; assist with eligibility determinations for employee work accommodation requests under the Americans with Disability Act (ADA). QUALIFICATIONS: Knowledge of: - Law: Federal and state anti-discrimination laws, regulations and executive orders related to equal employment opportunity and affirmative action, and the Americans with Disability Act (ADA) law;
- Personnel and Human Resources principles for lawful personnel recruitment, selection, training, compensation and benefits;
- Research principles to gather and analyze internal and external data and documents relevant to each investigation including , statutes, court decisions, and legal articles; gather and analyze data necessary for preparation of statistical analysis required to develop affirmative action goals and adverse impact reports;
- Advanced oral, written and interpersonal communication skills: professional interaction with administrators, faculty, staff, students and the public;
- Computer software: word processing; spreadsheets and databases;
Ability to: - Maintain an unbiased position when dealing with sensitive, confidential circumstances and information;
- Be objective in fact-finding, intake and assessment of complaints; Handle multiple compliance issues with timeline constraints;
- Manage critical deadlines associated with regulations and policy and procedure compliance; organize, plan and prioritize work;
- Respond appropriately under stress;
- Interpret and apply laws, regulations, policies and procedures;
- Use logic and reason to identify complex problems and review related information to develop approaches to investigate and/or resolve problems and reach conclusions;
- Use relevant information and individual judgment to determine whether events or processes comply with laws, regulations, standards, policies or procedures.
- Write at a level to convey complex information in an accessible way to persons of varying education levels;
- Remain current in all areas under the law associated with this function.
Experience, Education and Licensing: Bachelor degree in Human Resources, Law, Psychology, Business or related field and three years applicable human resources experience related to compliance with equal employment opportunity, affirmative action and American with Disabilities Act laws and regulations; or, an equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential duties of the job.
