GED Testing
**ATTENTION** Beginning October 1, 2009, all regularly scheduled GED testing will be conducted at Community Campus. To be eligible to sit for the General Educational Development (GED) test, GED candidates must meet the following four (4) criteria: - Not received a high school diploma or a high school equivalency diploma; and
- Not currently attending high school; and
- Are at least 16 years old (or older); and
- Participated in GED 101 and/or have taken the GED Official Practice Test (OPT) (at least the Reading, Writing, and Math portions) through an Adult Education provider and scored a 450 average on all three exams
Diploma RequirementsYou must pass the following five tests in order to earn an Arizona High School Equivalency Diploma: | Subject Area | Format | Time Limit | | Writing | 50 questions + essay | 2 hours | | Reading | 40 questions | 1 hour 5 minutes | | Social Studies | 50 questions | 1 hour 10 minutes | | Science | 50 questions | 1 hour 20 minutes | | Mathematics | 50 questions | 1 hour 30 minutes | Passing scores on the GED Test for the purpose of receiving an Arizona High School Equivalency Diploma are: a. A minimum of 410 points on each of the five sections; and b. A combined total point average of 450; and c. A cumulative total of 2,250 points for all five sections. Preparing for the TestPima offers free classes to prepare for the GED test and free official practice testing (OPT) at convenient locations. You can also study for the GED online.
