Chorale and College Singers' Mother's Day Concert

The Pima Community College Chorale & College Singers, under the direction of Benjamin Sorenson, will present a Mother's Day Concert on Sunday, May 13 at 3 p.m.   The concert will be at the College's West Campus Center for the Arts Proscenium Theatre.

The Chorale, a large mixed-voice choir, will sing several selections including "Show Me The Way" by Steven Porter and Norman Luboff, "Lebenslust (Joy of Living)" by Franz Schubert, and "Ave Verum" by Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart.

The College Singers, a small mixed-voice choir, will also sing several selections including "Zigeunerleben (a Gypsy's Life)" by Robert Schumann, "Day In,­ Day Out" by Johnny Mercer and Rube Bloom, "And So It Goes" by Billy Joel, and "Three Emily Dickinson Songs" by Michael Hennagin.

Sorenson performs regularly with the Arizona Opera Company and has prepared choruses for the Tucson Symphony Orchestra and the Arizona Opera Company.  He has been directing the Chorale & College Singers since 1978.
