High school students can explore future careers at Pima Community College this summer while earning college credit at one of PCC’s 15 Summer Career Academies.
Summer Career academies are free to qualifying students.
Students learn from guest speakers, take part in hands-on activities and go on field-trips through a variety of professions such as interior design, law enforcement and veterinary medicine. Participants earn three credits. Some high schools also award half of an elective credit.
A list of classes is available at www.pima.edu/kidsandteens/summercareer/ListOfClasses.shtml.
Students must apply by the first day of either session and must take assessment exams. Students are encouraged to attend an orientation session to help fill out the application, get information on classes and tour the campus. Visit www.pima.edu/kidsandteens/summercareer/ for orientation information.
For more information, call the PCC Summer Career Academies Office at 206-4524 or 206-4500.
