Becoming a Better Student - Student Success Classes and Workshops

The information below describes the kinds of Student Success classes and workshops PCC offers, how to research the offerings of Student Success classes, and how to find Student Success workshops.

Student Success Classes (STU)

STU classes are available at all campuses in a range of styles including traditional face-to-face, self-paced, and online.

STU classes are offered on a variety of subjects including time management, money management, testing tips, study skills, career development, university transfer, leadership, stress management, and more.

Research shows that STU classes are effective in helping students stay in school and be successful.

To assist students with making transitions, STU classes are taught by PCC counselors and adjunct instructors with a counseling background.

You can view STU class listings and descriptions on the PCC website.

As you progress in your academic studies, think about which STU classes would be helpful to you.

You may also wish to review the Tips for Student Success brochure available at the campus Student Services Centers.

Student Success Workshops

Student Success workshops are free, one hour, non-credit workshops that are offered year-round at all of the PCC campuses.

The workshops can help you reach your academic, career, and personal success goals. Topics include academic goal setting, career exploration, personal wellness strategies, time management, and more.

Each campus has an online calendar of events. To find a workshop via the online calendar, click on the campus of your choice and review the calendar for options of days and times.

You can also call or stop by any Student Services Center for more information.
