Honors Program Requirements

Honors Courses

HON 101: Honors Colloquium is required to enter the Honors Program. This course brings new honors students together and enhances research, reflection, writing and discussion skills. The Colloquium is offered during both the Fall and Spring semesters.

Pima offers a variety of other honors courses. You can receive honors credit for non-honors courses by signing an honors contract and doing extra work.  Students may take honors contract courses without officially being admitted to the honors program.

Honors Certificate of Completion

To receive an Honors Program certificate of completion, you must:

  • Complete at least of 15 credit hours of Pima honors courses including HON 101 and
  • Graduate from Pima with an overall GPA of at least 3.5
