Age Requirements
I'm still in high school. Can I attend Pima at the same time? Yes, with the consent of your parent or guardian, your high school administrator and your high school counselor. You must sign a Dual Enrollment form, which can be obtained from any Campus Admissions Office or One Stop Student Services Center. What if I'm in high school but under 16? You can seek special permission to attend Pima Community College from the Dean of Student Development (or a designee) at the campus where you wish to take classes. Students under 16 must: - Complete the Underage Admissions packet, which includes forms for signatures from your parent or guardian, your high school administrator and your high school counselor. This packet is available from any Campus Admissions Office or One Stop Student Service Center.
- Pass the reading, writing and math Assessment Tests.
- Make an appointment with the Dean of Student Development (or a designee) to determine developmental readiness for college work.
Do I need a high school diploma or GED to register at Pima? You do not need a diploma or GED to register. However, you may need a diploma or GED for certain programs, such as Dental Hygiene and Nursing. If you do not have a high school diploma or GED and wish to apply for Financial Aid, you must show Ability to Benefit by taking the assessment tests.
