Applying for Financial Aid
Application ProcessStep 1: complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) online at www.fafsa.ed.gov - There is no fee to complete a FAFSA.
- Pima's code is 007266
- Here's what you'll need to get started
- If you applied for aid last year, you may complete a Renewal FAFSA application online
- Contact PCC's Financial Aid Offices if you have questions
The address that you fill out on your FAFSA will not update your master record with the College. Contact any campus Admissions Office if you need to change your permanent or mailing address. Step 2: Your results will be returned to you in the form of a Student Aid Report (SAR). Read the SAR carefully and contact a campus Financial Aid Office if there are any errors that need correction. Step 3: A request for any additional documents may be mailed to you after the College receives the electronic record of your application. Processing of your award may take three to five weeks after we have received your accurate application record and all other documentation. Use the MyPima Financial Aid tab to keep on top of your financial aid status. VerificationIf your application for financial aid is selected by the federal processing center for a process called Verification, you will be asked to turn in a complete, signed copy of your most recent federal income tax return, a form called the Verification Worksheet, your W2's and any other supporting documentation deemed necessary. The request for this information will be mailed to you by Pima's Financial Aid Office. Early ApplicationTo be considered an early applicant and given priority for funds with limited availability, Pima must have received your accurate electronic FAFSA and all other required documents no later than April 2. You must also meet all student eligibility requirements (such as the Standards of Satisfactory Academic Progress and admittance into an aid eligible program). This date is not a deadline but a priority date for consideration for types of aid other than the Pell Grant. If you have never attended Pima Community College, apply for admission and meet all admission requirements, before the priority date in order to meet eligibility requirements.
