PCC Women’s Basketball Falls to USU-Eastern
Tucson, AZ – The women’s basketball team (1-4) dropped its final game as part of the Salt Lake Community College tournament on Saturday to Utah State University-College of Eastern Utah (USU-Eastern) 62-55.
Ashlei Scott (Chandler HS) led the Aztecs with 11 points while Raja Moreno (Tucson HS) finished with 10 points and 14 rebounds. DJ Davis (Tolleson HS) went scoreless in the first half but scored nine in the second half. She also had three steals.
On Friday, the Aztecs fell to host college Salt Lake Community College 72-55. DJ Davis and Ashlei Scott each scored 11 points and A’jha Edwards finished with nine points and 13 rebounds.
Even though Pima went 0-3 for the tournament, Coach Todd Holthaus knows his players benefited from it.
“It was a tough weekend against some very good D-1 jucos, and even though the score didn’t reflect the results we wanted, we got better,” Holthaus said.
The Aztecs open the ACCAC conference next Saturday when they host Glendale Community College at the West Campus’ Aztec Gym at 2 p.m.
