Chancellor's Cabinet Meeting

Present: Chancellor Roy Flores; Executive Assistant to the Provost Stan Steinman for Provost and Executive Vice Chancellor; Executive Vice Chancellor David Bea; Vice Chancellors Kirk Kelly and Raul Ramirez; Presidents Lou Albert, Johnson Bia, Charlotte Fugett, Jana Kooi, Sylvia Lee and Mary Vanis; Senior Assistant to the Chancellor Donna Gifford 5. Information Items 5a. Fleet Vehicles and Signatures (R. Flores) The Campus Directors of Administrative Services were asked to join the meeting to discuss signatures for fleet vehicles. The issue regarding signatures on Vehicle Authorization Forms and Travel Authorization Forms was discussed. The Chancellor will sign for his direct reports and the Campus Presidents will sign for their direct reports. If the Chancellor signs the Travel Authorization Forms for his direct reports that should suffice for authorization for a vehicle. Additional information will be provided on the Travel Authorization Forms to include estimated cost for vehicles and a different mechanism will be created for the Vehicle Authorization Forms to separate the financial piece. 1. Presentations Human Resources Operations — Jack Redavid (R. Ramirez) Jack Redavid, Assistant Vice Chancellor for Human Resources presented information of the operations side of Human Resources. Human Resources support the College so it can carry out the service of providing instruction and student services. 2. Policies and Procedures 2a. SPG-1501/AC: ADA & Equal Opportunity, Reasonable Accommodation Guideline for Employees/Applicants 2b. SPG-1501/AG: Disabled Students’ Complaint Procedure There was a discussion of the SPG 1501-XX series. Changes are being made to reflect new requirements for the College. SPG 1501 AA will be reposted for comments, and SPGs 1501 AB and AE will be eliminated as the material has been incorporated in other SPGs. Cabinet was asked to review the changes to SPG 1501 AC and the new SPG 1501 AG by Friday, October 19 for content and editorial comments. Comments are to be sent to Donna Gifford. 2c. SPG-3105/AC: Curriculum Alignment, Unification and Placement – Lead Campus and Replicated Campus Follow-up: To come back to Cabinet Study Session 3. Follow-up 3a. Avionics New Program Business Plan (M. Vanis) Action: Approved. 3b. NCATT Certification Approval (M. Vanis) Action: Approved. 3c. Faculty Selection Process(R. Ramirez) Follow-up: To come back to Cabinet Study Session for final approval. 5. Information Items 5b. Safety Communication (D. Bea) Executive Vice Chancellor Bea noted that there have been several safety issues happening on the campuses and a communication plan is needed. The Emergency Response Plan should be ready for cabinet review in two weeks.
