General Matters Call to Order Richard Fimbres called the meeting to order at 6:00 p.m. Pledge of Allegiance Marty Cortez led the Pledge of Allegiance. Information/Discussion Truth in Taxation (TNT) – Notice of Tax Decrease Vice Chancellor Bea gave a brief overview of the Truth in Taxation requirements and the impact the proposed tax decrease would have on taxpayers. The recommendation is to decrease the tax levy rate by 3.6%. The primary tax rate will be decreased from $1.0570 to $1.0191. The tax levy for FY08 would increase by $1,883,260 to $74,937,796. Proposed 2007/08 Budget Vice Chancellor Bea then presented the proposed 2007/08 Budget. The proposed budget is $205.6 million, up from $193.7 million this year. Dr. Bea reviewed the Board’s directives regarding revenues and expenditures. Public Comment Public Comment There were no requests to address the Board. Adjournment The meeting adjourned at 6:20 p.m.
