 | District 1: Brenda B. Even, Ph.D. Dr. Even holds a Bachelor of Arts in English/Speech from the University of Illinois; a Master of Arts in English from Indiana University; a Master of Arts in Education in Counseling and Guidance and a Doctor of Philosophy in Secondary Education, Counseling and Guidance, from the University of Arizona. Dr. Even has served on the Board of the Tucson Unified School District, and is active in numerous community and professional organizations that promote education and children's health issues. She has served on the Arizona Town Hall Board, and represented southern Arizona at three Town Hall meetings. Currently Dr. Even represents state community colleges on the Arizona Board of Regents' Joint Conference Committee, which oversees improvements in the transfer system for students in Arizona. Fimbres Mr. Fimbres is Director of the Governor's Office of Highway Safety and previously served as Programs Manager for Special Services of the Pima County Sheriff's Department. Mr. Fimbres has served on numerous community boards and has received local and national awards recognizing his leadership. He is active at a national level in the League of United Latin American Citizens and has been honored by the group for his ongoing service. He holds two associate's degrees from Pima, a bachelor's degree from the University of Arizona and a master's degree in educational leadership from Northern Arizona University. Marshall Sherryn "Vikki" Marshall is a re-employment specialist with Pima County's Community Services Department. Ms. Marshall has been honored with community service awards from the United Steelworkers, the YWCA, the American Federation of State, County and Municipal Employees, the League of United Latin American Citizens, El Tour de Tucson, and the U.S. Federal Bureau of Investigation. She is also active with organizations serving children, Hispanics, and retired persons. Elected in Nov. 2000 for the term 2001 - 2006 Elected in Nov. 2006 for the term 2007 - 2012 |  | District 4: Scott A. Stewart Mr. Stewart is an optical engineer and manager at Raytheon Systems Company. Mr. Stewart holds a Bachelor of Science in Astronomy, a Bachelor of Science in Physics, a Bachelor of Arts in Russian, and a Master of Science in Optical Sciences, all from the University of Arizona. Mr. Stewart continues in leadership roles in civic activities and maintains proficiency in technical Russian. Marty Cortez A long-time educator and Hispanic leader, Ms. Cortez retired from Northern Arizona University as senior advisor for statewide academic programs. Ms. Cortez was the first female Hispanic school principal in both Nogales and Amphitheater (Tucson) school districts. She serves on the board of the University of Arizona Hispanic Alumni Association, in addition to boards of numerous other civic organizations. Among her honors, Ms. Cortez was named Woman of the Year in 1999 by the Hispanic Professional Action Committee and received a Woman on the Move award from the YWCA. Ms. Cortez holds a Bachelor of Arts in Elementary Education, a Master of Arts in Elementary Education, and a Master of Education in Counseling and Guidance, all from the University of Arizona. Elected in Nov. 1994 for the term 1995 - 2000 Elected in Nov. 2000 for the term 2001 - 2006 Elected in Nov. 2006 for the term 2007 - 2012 |
