Women’s Soccer goalie named NJCAA Player of Week

Pima goalkeeper Adrianna Phininzy earned the NJCAA Player of the Week honors for the week ending Sept. 6, 2009.

The sophomore, a graduate of Tucson’s Palo Verde High Magnet School, helped Pima to a 2-0 week. She made three saves in a 1-0 shutout of GateWay Community College (Phoenix) on Sept. 2 and, on Sept. 4, made four saves in a 3-1 win over Mesa Community College.
