PCC football hosts Scottsdale at TEP on Oct. 3

The Pima Community College football team hosts Scottsdale Community College at 7 p.m. Saturday at Tucson Electric Park.

This is the first football game at the popular baseball spring training site, 2500 E. Ajo Way.

General admission is $5 general admission. Students and PCC employees with proper ID get in for $3. Tickets go on sale at the TEP box office at 5:30 p.m., that day. Gates also open at 5:30 p.m. Parking is free.

The field for this Western States Football League game will run across the baseball outfield.

“We decided to have the game at TEP because it’s a great venue and it was not being used,” said Edgar Soto, Pima’s Executive Director of Athletics. “This game date and time just fit.”

This is the first home game for Pima (0-4) since its season opener Sept. 5 at Gridley Stadium at Tucson High Magnet School. Pat Nugent is in his first year as Pima head coach.

“We hope next year we will have more games at TEP depending how this one works out,” said Soto, also head coach of Pima’s baseball team, which opened its 2008-09 season at TEP.
