Player earns Pitcher of the Week honors

Pima baseball player Mike Lachapelle has earned the Arizona Community College Athletic Conference co-Pitcher of the Week honors for the week ending April 12, 2009.

Lachapelle (SO, Tucson, AZ, Sahuaro HS) earned the honor by throwing a complete game shutout on Saturday against South Mountain Community College. He allowed only three hits over seven innings, and fanned five Cougar batters.

The complete game shutout is Lachapelle’s second of the season.

Lachapelle shares the Pitcher of the Week honor with Jared Bowser of Arizona Western College and Jimmy Patterson of Central Arizona College who also threw complete game shutouts last week.
