Pima College has several ways you can enjoy music, theater and dance in an acclaimed art community both on campus and around Tucson.
Attend a concert or showThe Center for the Arts presents a wide-ranging schedule of theater, music and dance performances by college groups and community and professional troupes. PerformMeet new friends and hone your musical, acting, or dance skills by joining one of many performance ensembles. Any Pima College student can audition for a performance ensemble, play, or musical, most of which meet as courses. Wind Ensemble performs concerts four times a year, at special events and on tour. Members often form smaller ensembles that are featured on the concerts. Chorale is a large mixed-voice choir that performs four times a year and by invitation. Chamber Singers, a more select mixed-voice a cappella group, performs regularly at Pima College functions and on tour. Community College Orchestra emphasizes chamber orchestra repertoire at its concerts. Jazz Ensemble performs acoustic jazz throughout Tucson. Jazz Combos emerge out of the Improvisation class. They perform each semester, cut a demonstration CD recording and appear throughout Tucson. Dance concerts are featured twice a year and focus on jazz, modern, tap and ballet. Opera Scenes/OperaPima presents fully staged and costumed scenes from opera and Broadway musicals twice a year. Theater productions are staged throughout the year.
